It often happens that people only realise that their pools are in dire need of a facelift or maintenance when summer is upon them and everybody wants to swim.  Relining your pool can be a substantial expenditure, but if you opt for a fibreglass relining, you are opting for an affordable solution.

The non-porous surface of a fibreglass swimming pool reduces the risk of bacterial build-up and is hygienic and easy to clean and maintain.  It has a smooth finish, is durable and does not leak.  Pool relining gives you a brand new pool in an instant; it will cost a fraction of the price of a new pool and last a lifetime.

When it comes to renovating the interior of old pools with fibreglass, Cape Classic Pools approaches the project with complete confidence. Due to the fact that we specialize in fibreglass swimming pools we are aware of the necessity of using the correct materials and application to give our clients long lasting satisfaction and pool use.

  • The application of fibreglass onto an existing structure is only as good as the structure itself, no matter how well you may apply the fibreglass it is imperative that the structure is sound before proceeding
  • The preparation of the surface is the most important part of the project. If your preparation is inadequate the lifespan of your renovation will be short lived
  • The application of the fibreglass has to be done by first wetting the pool surface with the resin and then applying the fibreglass, once that has been done more resin is applied from the front. The first application of resin secures the bond of the fibreglass to the pool surface and it is very important that both sides of the fibreglass are wet out properly
  • Once the fibreglass is applied and correctly rolled out to remove all air behind the laminate,  the fibreglass is prepared for the final coating. The final coating is done using a pool coat, which either comes in white or pool blue. The mosaic band is a tissue that is applied over the pool coat to finish off the pool.

The resins Cape Classic Pools uses are ISO resins and the pool coats are ISO NPG. The clear resin used over the mosaic is an ISO NPG, which has UV stabilizers to help against fading.

No matter if it is a residential pool or a commercial pool, Cape Classic Pools with its years experience in the fibreglass industry provides a satisfactory result that gives you lasting pleasure and a secure investment.
